2024 PROSPECTUS

HP30 Class Looking forward to 2018

8TH JANUARY, 2018

With the London Boat Show heralding the start of the 2018 sailing season, we look ahead to an exciting year of racing for the HP30 Class.

Class numbers have grown substantially in the last five weeks, since RORC Rating agreed to support the class; generously helping to re-establish the class limits.

In recent weeks the fleet size has increased from a committed five boats, to eight solid entries for the whole season.  With six more coming from overseas to participate in the bigger events of the series, including, the Round the Island Race, and Lendy Cowes Week, the fleet size is expected to be in the mid-teens by the summer.

There will be HP30 class starts at the International Paints Poole Regatta 2018, Round the Island Race and Lendy Cowes Week, where the boats will enjoy a four day mini-series regatta at the beginning of the week as well as the more traditional courses for the balance of the competition.

In addition, to racing for trophies at these exciting events, the HP30 Class will be running a points series championship over the course of the season, with teams having to compete in no fewer than five events to qualify.  The final score will be determined from each team's best four scores.

For those teams interested in taking part, there are plenty of boats available to buy as well as a number of potential season charter options available.  The HP30 Class website currently has four boats available, including FarEast28s, Farr30s and Farr280s.  With several months to go until the start of the season, there is still plenty of time to buy a boat and put a competitive campaign together.
